Introducing....

Me. I have been planning on writing this for some time and was trying to think how I could get round it being compared to Sex and the City. Today I realised there was no way round it and I was going to have to deal with the inevitable comparisons to "that" HBO series. There is a difference though and I am here to set a contrast to our neighbours in the big city across the pond, we London girls, although in awe of those 4 ladies from Manhattan, have very different dating rules, discussions regards our sex lives, morals and relationships with men (and sometimes women). So this is not yet another version of some girl wanting to be the new Carrie, this is simply about the loves and lives of my friends and I hope some of you will laugh, some of you will find it inspirational, some of you might learn from our mistakes and not have to find out the hard way. And I will be flattered by any comparisons to "that" show.

My friends. First up we have...

Amy - is 29 years old and lives in North London, petite with short blonde hair, 3 long term relationships, works in marketing for a new media company, bisexual. She is your typical well educated, broad minded, liberal, middle class, home counties girl and one of my favourite people to spend time with, obviously (I get most of my material from her).


Lucinda - is 31 years old and hails from a council estate somewhere in Norfolk. Dark haired, tall and slim, on her 2nd long term relationship but its early days yet. She's a comprehensive educated, East Anglia girl with a heart of gold and a manner that can bely her immense eloquence and intelligence. She also works in marketing for a national newspaper.


Nikki - is 30 years old. Dark haired and athletic she is the only girl I know who would rather watch football than go shoe shopping (though it traumatises her to make that choice as she loves shoes too - just not as much as she loves Man Utd. FC). She is in her first real long term relationship and long may it last. Again she has a good all round education and had an unremarkable and happy life when she was growing up in the Southern Counties. She works for a medical marketing company as a writer.

And back to me again - I am blonde (and if you ever hear any different that's fine but I wouldn't believe it), I have two teenage boys and I am the oldest of this particular group by at least a couple of years on Luci. I have a boyfriend who works in the City and an ex-husband who potters around on boats. But lets not talk about that now. On with the postings.....
